Today, after much begging and pleading the surgeon agreed to move Payson's surgery from the 8th of Feb. to January 18th! Yup, as in a week and two days! Woo Hoo! Do you know what that means? Yup, shortly there after Payson will be making his second and final debut home! (: The target date for coming home is 1/26! This date isn't set in stone, b/c things could take longer to get put into place or there could be some setbacks after surgery, but that is our staring goal. If it isn't on that date it is most certainly the week of the 26th! I am so excited, scared, happy, nervous,...It is a bunch of conflicting emotions that I am not sure how to deal with. I know when he comes home it will be very difficult, extremely exhausting, nothing will get done and the adjustments to other adults in the house will cause tremendous strain (the house will be busting at the seams!), but it still doesn't take away the "ahh home" moment of him coming home. Armed with this new information we have lots to do:
Todd and I have to finish training, get certified in trach CPR, do a 24 hour care of Payson at the hospital. We are trying to accomplish this by Wed., so we are finished with everything before surgery, but might not be able pull it.
On top of this: We have to change the little ones rooms around, repaint Margaret Ruth's room, set up Payson's room to accommodate all his medical equipment, do electrical work, get a home inspection, get everything out of the basement, clear out the garage to accommodate all the basement stuff, clear some furniture out of the living room so Payson can have another place where he can hang out, cook many meals, get Oxygen in Use signs up, get schedules up and posted, receive delivery of medical supplies and so much more! So, I might not be posting a lot in the next week or two until we have accomplished most of the above. Here's to Payson John coming home!
WooHoo!
Happy 25th birthday, Elijah~
